Whispering Pines RV Park, Cle Elum WA

Stay Dates:  March 2013
Our Rating:  GOOD – 7
Whispering Pines1This is a small park with only a few sites suitable for big rigs, and although the interior road is a bit tight, with care you can maneuver into one of the two or three long grass and gravel pull-thrus. Our site had a nice grass area, shade, and a table.  Lots of trees, but a fairly clear shot for the satellite, with fair Verizon cell and data reception. The free cable TV was extensive and clear. Whispering Pines2Fairly quiet, with a few long term RVs and friendly owners/hosts and a large store. Considering that there are no sewer hookups or WiFi, the nightly rate is at the top end of what we would expect for a park with few amenities. Anyone with a rig over 32' should probably call ahead for reservations since the larger sites are few. Winter rate of $29/night.  Whispering Pines RV Park

Fildago Bay RV Resort, Anacortes, WA

Stay Date:  March 2013
Our Rating:  GOOD – 7
Fildago Bay1The park has two areas; we stayed in the upper area which was lower in price but had pull-in waterview sites. Interior roads and sites are gravel and fairly level, and while we no one on either side, it would be very tight when full as sites are very narrow. The free WiFi was surprisingly strong throughout our stay, and the cable TV was limited but adequate. Fildago Bay2The upper area has many long-term residents but their sites were in the interior and kept clear of outside items. A paved walking path runs through the park and out into the bay and is open to dog walkers. The view includes a small marsh, Fildago Bay, and Mount Baker and the Cascades in the distance.  Road noise can be troublesome, but tapers off at night. The entry Fildago Bay3road is narrow and very rough, but has little traffic, and to exit you must drive toward town and then back to the highway. All in all a pleasant park that's convenient to Anacortes and Whidbey Island. A good value at the winter rate of $27/night.  Fildago Bay RV Resort

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim WA

Stay Date:  March 2013
Our Rating:  GOOD – 9
We enjoyed our stay at this compact, well-staffed park. Sites and interior roads are paved, fairly level, and each has a nice grassy area and picnic table. Maneuvering through the park's interior is a bit tricky, but doable. Fairly good WiFi is now available throughout the park, and a DSL hookup is available for free at each site, with cables available at the office. The free cable was extensive and clear. Hookups were adequate although the water pressure was a bit low. The owners and hosts are very friendly and host a pot luck each month. The lounge area and laundry are nicely maintained and the washers and dryers are reasonable. A plus is being within walking distance of the small downtown area and nearby fast food restaurant. A great little park, and reasonable for the $375/mo rate (+electric).  Gilgal Oasis RV Park

Brookhaven RV Park, Kelso WA

Stay Date:  October 2012
Our Rating:  GOOD – 9
Brookhaven RV ParkA nicely designed park with easy access to I-5 yet secluded and quiet. All paved interior roads and pull-through sites with trees and grass, and surrounded by a high levee that makes it a quiet environment. Convenient hookups and strong free Wi-Fi, with a nice laundry room at reasonable prices. Verizon cell and data were strong, and all sites have a clear view of the satellites. Brookhaven RV Park2We appreciated their strict dog policy ("dogs must be on a leash, and one end of the leash MUST be in the owner's hand") which prohibited dogs being tied outside and barking. Friendly office staff and residents. Convenient to visiting Mount St. Helens, a must-see when in the area.  $34/Night  Brookhaven RV Park

Armitage County Park, Eugene OR

Stay Date:  October 2012
Our Rating:  GOOD – 7
Armitage ParkCertainly one of the better county parks we've encountered, but not as much of a bargain in price as many are. Long pull-through loops can hold the largest RV, and hookups are modular and conveniently located. Lots of grass and trees, but arranged so that most sites have a clear view of the satellites. Free cable TV was fuzzy, and the Wi-Fi was weak and would not connect from our siteArmitage Park2Quiet at night, with a short walk to the river access and playgrounds. A nice destination park for families. An annoyance is that a $10 fee is levied for reservations even for drive-up campers. For an overnight, we'll probably look elsewhere in the area the next time.  $33/night for a pull-thru.  Armitage County Park

Rivers West RV Park

Stay Date:  October 2012
Our Rating:  7 – GOOD
Rivers West2This is a friendly, comfortable park with level gravel sites, long pull-though sites, and solid hookups. While there is no Wi-Fi or cable, Verizon cell and data were strong and satellite TV was unimpeded. The interior roads are well maintained, and there's plenty of green grass between each site. Rivers WestThe park is next to I-5, and although shielded by trees, the noise from big-rig traffic can be significant. There are many long-term residents, but they were a friendly group, along with the office staff. Our only complaints were the sprinkler system which left water spots on the side of our rig, and the number of pet cats that were allowed to roam free. Still in all, a nice place with a great monthly rate. $28/Night.  $240/mo includes electric.  No Web Site

Seven Feathers RV Resort

Stay Date:  Numerous; Last stay October 2012
Our Rating:  9 – GOOD
We consider this park one of the country's best and always stay here when in the area. Fabulous landscaping, professional staff, and plenty of amenities make this a true resort. On checking in, we mentioned the previous review and that we were surprised that someone had a problem. The manager was immediately notified, read the review, and stated that he would contact the writer and make things right. True, the transformers are placed in the living area of the site, and the sewer fittings are also placed on the neighbor's site; but what irritated me on this trip was that the sprinkler system sprayed my newly-waxed motor home each night and left highly visible water spots. I like the green grass, but they need to adjust the sprinkler heads. The free park Wi-Fi worked remarkably well considering the number of guests and the cable TV, although limited in channels, worked well. The shuttle to and from the casino was timely, and we enjoyed the evening buffet. An enjoyable place to stay, and we'll visit again. Worth it at $38/night with Good Sam discount.  Seven Feathers RV Resort
