AOK Campground and RV Park, St Joseph MO

Stay Date:  April 2010
Our Rating:  GOOD – 7
Convenient to I-29 on a scary, narrow dirt road, then down a hill to the parking area. The new owner is making visible improvements, and our site was level gravel with good hookups. Verizon Aircard and cell service were very good. No cable, and a fair amount of trees, but our site had a clear shot at the satellite.  Free WiFi worked well.  Quiet and dark except for freeway noise, this was a good overnight and probably a nice destination park in the summer. The reasonable very price of $20/night made this a worthwhile stay. AOK Campground and RV Park

Majestic Oaks Family RV Park, Lake Ozark MO

Stay Date:  April 2009
Our Rating:  GOOD –9
We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay in this meticulously maintained park in the oak forest above Lake of the Ozark. The owners have completed significant work in improving the facility; 50amp sites are huge gravel pull-thrus with a picnic table. Although the WiFi reception was spotty from our location, the Cable TV was exceptionally clear, important since the heavy tree cover prevents satellite reception. Verizon cell and Aircard worked well. The park has nature trails through the woods, a pool, game lounge, and outdoor playground. Throughout the park seasonal campers have placed bird feeders and we watched hummingbirds and bluebirds from our site. Although there are some seasonal campers, their sites were very well maintained. All in all, this is a perfect destination for the area; quiet, peaceful, and extremely well maintained.  Very reasonable at $26/night.  Majestic Oaks Family RV Park

Osage Prairie RV Park, Nevada MO

Stay Date:  April 2009
Our Rating:  GOOD – 7
This is a pretty basic overnight spot with good potential. We were met by the friendly and helpful owner who escorted us to our site and explained the hookups. The sites are back-to-back, but with few sites occupied we were able to use the entire length which gave us an 80' plus pull-through. The sites are dirt with grass islands, and fairly level. There is no cable and there are trees so ask for a clear site if you intend to use your satellite dish. Free WiFi was adequate, and Verizon cell and Aircard worked well.  There is some road and train noise, but not enough to be a distraction. The park is convenient to town and is fairly easy to access with a big rig. Nice folks and reasonably priced; we'd stay here again with the FMCA discount bringing the price to #20/night.  Osage Prairie RV Park
