Amistar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg MS
Stay Date: Sept 2013
Our Rating: Good – 7
Very convenient to I-20, yet quiet at night. This park is a comfortable spot for a nights stay. Located across from the Ameristar Casino, with a paved entry road and gravel interior roads and sites. All sites are pull-thrus, and are not long enough for both a 40' or larger motor home and tow without unhooking. The power pedestal was unusual in that the 50 amp plug was installed upside down, making it difficult to use with a power monitor. Good cable and Wi-Fi, and Verizon cell and data were strong. Small trees only, so a clear shot for satellite TV. A shuttle is available for the casino. We'd probably stay here again because of the convenience and price, reasonable at $27/night. Hernando Point COE Campground, Hernando MS
Stay Date: Sept 2013
Our Rating: GOOD – 8
Another great COE park on the shores of the lake. A bit off the interstate, but worth it for a few nights. Interior roads and sites are paved, and the sites, all back-in are not as deep as most COE parks; in this case our 40' motor home just fit with our tow vehicle parked to the side.
Many of the sites are on the lake shore, and all have large areas for the table, fire ring, and even a tent area. Power and water were good, and Verizon cell and data were weak, but usable. Lots of trees, but ample room for a tripod satellite. Beware the ants, they can be a problem, but at least they're not fire ants. An enjoyable place to stay at a great rate – only $10/night with the Golden Access pass. Hernando Point COE Campground

Sam’s Town Casino RV Park
Stay Date: November 2010
Our Rating: GOOD – 8
Not a resort, but a good, comfortable, and quiet place to stay. Friendly check-in, with a reminder to get our players’ cards from the casino to qualify for the $16/night rate. Paved interior roads with long, concrete pull-thru sites, each with a picnic table, grill, grass, and convenient hookups. Minimal cable TV, but clear shot to satellites. No WiFi, but Verizon cell a
nd Aircard worked well. Some light at night from adjacent casinos, but not bad. Fenced, with security patrols, but we didn’t see a shuttle and it’s a 1/2 mile walk to the casino. Shop the casinos for bargains – we ate every night for free with a minimum of gaming. A good place to stay if you’re here to explore the casinos. Sam’s Town Casino RV Park
