We've enjoyed staying at this park over the years. Easy entry and access to sites on gravel roads, large, level gravel pull-thru sites, and nicely landscaped. Convenient hookups, No OTA TV or cable but no obstructions to satellites. WiFi was out during our stay but Verizon cell/data was strong. Although a large park, it was quiet at night with no road noise. Easy access to the touristy town of Ennis and Virginia City. A beautiful area; we'll stay here again. Reasonable at $41/Night

A nicely maintained, well laid out park that was quiet at night. A bit congested in the back in area but doable. Our site was spacious and level with grass and a table. No OTA TV, but park cable was very good and there were no

obstructions to satellite TV. The park's WiFi worked well throughout the day, and Verizon cell/date were very good. Entry and egress to the park/highway are on basically a one-lane road that requires opposing traffic to pull off when meeting a big rig. The procedure of closing the large gate at 7:00 nightly and requiring returning guests to remove the chain, open and close the gate was an irritant. $46/Night

Camp Three Forks, Three Forks, MT

We were disappointed in our stay. While the park advertises full hookups, our $48.60 got us a 30A and water site. An old KOA, the infrastructure is in need of upgrading; even the 30A plug was worn, cobweb covered, and only inches off the ground. Otherwise, it looks like a nice park during the summer months with a pool, shade, and playground. WiFi worked well, and Verizon Cell/Data was strong. No OTA TV, no cable, and iffy looks through the trees for the TV satellites. Trees need to be trimmed - we scraped our roof getting into our site, and overall, anything over 40' is going to struggle to maneuver in the park. Next time we'll pass this one by. Overpriced at $48/night.

Indian Creek Campground, Deer Lodge MT

A comfortable but pricey overnight stay. Easy access from I-90, with good interior gravel roads and long pull-thru gravel sites. Convenient hookups and good WiFi. Easy access from the interstate with paved roads and a variety of pull-thru and back-in sites. Our site was a long pull-thru with soft but level gravel and no shade. Hookups worked well, the cable TV was adequate, and there were a few OTA channels. Park WiFi was adequate, and Verizon cell/data was strong. Pretty much a ho-hum park with no really good or bad aspects, but overpriced for the facilities and the area.  $40/Night.  Grandview Campground

We've stayed here a number of times over the years, and always have to accept the trade off of location versus noise. The owners are great, the park very well taken care of, and the rate reasonable. But the noise - right next to I-90 with considerable road noise, and on the other side, train tracks and trains using their horns all night long. It's no fault of the owners, but it's a huge distraction and for us prevents a good night's sleep. Gravel sites are level, some pull thrus have shade, and hookups are convenient. No cable but adequate OTA channels and generally clear view of the satellites. WiFi was generally usable and Verizon cell/data was strong. It's a very nice park, but be aware of the noise.  $40/night.  Sunrise Campground

This is our stay of choice in an area of few options. Easy access off the interstate but a bit tight maneuvering within the park. Pull through sites are gravel, fairly level, and long enough to leave the tow vehicle attached. Hookups are randomly placed; some sites have sewer in the far rear, some have water there. This time around, the sewer was close but the water required an extra hose. Nicely shaded with green grass, but each morning meant more hard water spots from the sprinkler system. Cable TV was just average, OTA had a number of channels, and satellite views were difficult with all of the tree cover. WiFi was poor but Verizon cell/data was good. We were in the back row, and the train noise, not from horns but from squealing brakes. Black Rabbit RV Park, Hamilton MT

Located on the north side of Hamilton and convenient to town yet quiet at night. Interior roads and sites are gravel and our pull through site was just long enough to leave the tow attached. Sites are very close together, it's doubtful an awning could be extended. Lots of long term residents with outside items and ATVs, many who park on the interior roads nearly blocking access to a large motor home. Cable TV didn't work, WiFi was too weak to use, but only small trees to block satellite. Verizon cell/data was strong. There are few options in the area, and the park takes advantage by being overpriced for what they offer at $38/Night.  Black Rabbit RV Park

Our favorite stop when passing through the area.  Easy access to I-15 with long, level pull-thru sites.  Large sites with grass and table, convenient hookups, and no obstructions to satellite TV.  No cable TV and little OTA TV.  Park WiFi was good, and Verizon Cell/Data was strong.  Convenient to town and Bannack State Park.  $35/night.  Countryside RV Park

Big Sky Camp and RV Park, Miles City MT

A perfect park for an overnight stay. Nothing fancy, just a friendly owner, low price, long pull thru sites, and 30A power and water. Surprisingly strong WiFi, cable TV, and good Verizon cell/data. Right off the interstate, easy in/out. Not a destination park, but we weren't looking for one. We'll stay here again.  Only $22/night. Big Sky Camp and RV Park

 

 

Area Tips:  Miles City has an interesting, historic downtown and good restaurants.  The Montana Rib & Chop House is new and has very good food at reasonable prices.

Malmstrom AFB Famcamp, Great Falls MT

Compared to other Famcamps, we rate this location below average largely for the inane policy of not taking reservations or having a phone contact. Getting there requires a six plus mile drive off the interstate through the heart of the business area, and if they're full your option may be the on-base annex, except you can't get through the main gate with a large RV. I feel sorry for the hosts, who were very professional, when they have to turn people away. The park itself is average; paved interior roads with unusually sloped concrete pads that are difficult to level on without raising the front wheels off of the ground. Hookups were good, no cable, little OTA, but no obstructions to satellite TV. The park WiFi was unusable, but Verizon cell/data were strong. An unusual rule was that tow vehicles could not be hooked up on the pads, which was inconvenient and made no sense. Opposite facing sites resulted in better than average space, but overall a mediocre location.  $24/Night  Gateway Famcamp

Area Tips:  The commissary is just OK and the BX is, well, the BX.  Nothing special on base, and the town of Great Falls, unlike other towns in Montana, is drab and unremarkable.  The usual shopping at a strip mall along the interstate, with the usual chain restaurants.  Everything requires a six-seven mile drive from the base.

Choteau Campground, Choteau MT

The new owners are wonderful and working hard to improve the park. Obviously an old KOA, the layout and infrastructure are dated, with 30A only. Most sites have no shade, and there is little grass. Our site was a fairly level pull-thru, and with few RVs in the park, there was ample room. The park WiFi worked well, but there is no cable or OTA TV. Verizon cell/data signal was strong. A park with enormous potential but with some ways to go. Somewhat overpriced in it's current condition, but it's the only park in the area.  $33/Night.  Choteau Campground

We stayed here based on internet reviews and were not disappointed. Fast, friendly check-in (make sure you pet the cat), large, level concrete pads, and spacious, all-concrete sites. Although along the highway, there was no significant noise and the park was quiet and dark at night. OK cable, no obstructions to the satellites, but little OTA TV. The park WiFi worked well during our one-week stay regardless of the time of day. Verizon cell/data were also very good. The hosts are veteran professionals who excel at making this a great stay, and we'll be back. Reasonable at Passport America’s rate of $30/night.  Edgewater RV Resort and Motel

Area Tips:  Located right on the shore of Flathead Lake and a little over an hour to Glacier National Park.  Good shopping and dining just North of Kalispell.

Sula Country Store and RV Park, Sula MT

Calling this a "resort" may be a bit of a stretch, but it's a great little park under tall pines and next to a stream. Only a few sites, and only one with 50A, but they're fairly level gravel pull-thrus with adequate spacing. No cable or WiFi, but surprisingly a few OTA stations. Lots of trees, but a few holes for a tripod satellite mount. Verizon cell/data worked well. Some truck noise from the highway, but fairly quiet at night. The store has basic items but the restaurant wasn't open this early in the year.  A great value at $25/night.  Sula Country Store and RV Park

Countryside RV Park, Dillon, MT

I wish RV park owners all over the country would visit this park to see how a park should be designed. Long, level gravel pull-thrus are staggered so that the nose of your neighbors rig is aligned with the back of yours. Lots of grass, good hookups, and quiet and dark at night. Good Verizon cell/data, and solid park WiFi. No cable or OTA TV here, but the office has a library of DVDs and there are no obstructions to the satellites. Easy access to the interstate but far enough that there's no road noise. Nice views of the mountains and close to Dillon for shopping and dining. Well worth the $35/night.  Countryside RV Park

Area Tips:  Dillon doesn’t offer much in the way of dining, but Sparky’s Garage was very good.  Don’t miss a visit to Bannack State Park, the best-preserved ghost town you’ll ever see.

Ennis RV Village, Ennis, MT

A great park in the beautiful Madison Valley.  Interior roads and sites are hard-packed gravel and level, with better than average space between.  Nicely maintained green grass and a small tree at each site.  Friendly office staff and hands-on owner who will go out of his way to be helpful.  Easy to find and access from the main highway.  Quiet and dark at night. No cable TV or OTA here, but no obstructions to the satellites.  WiFi was unusable during our stay, but Verizon cell/data were strong.  Located just outside of Ennis, a neat little town with adequate shopping and dining, and an hour from West Yellowstone.  A big trout fishing area, so make reservations in the summer.  Reasonable at $36/night.  Ennis RV Village

Lolo Square dance Center and RV Campground, Lolo MT

This was our second visit to this campground and we enjoyed the location, quiet, and tall trees.  Two miles off highway 93, the park has easy access and a very friendly staff.  Interior roads are dirt/gravel and there is some dust, and sites are mostly gravel and level.   Nice grassy area between each site with a table.  Limited cable and very strong WiFi, and Verizon cell/4G were very good. Lots of trees, but with a little luck you can find a view of the TV satellites.  Busy up front on Friday and Saturday with all of the square dancers, but quiet in the campground area.  Convenient to Missoula (9 miles) and other attractions further south.  Weekly rate was lowered the daily cost to $28/night, the most reasonable price in the area.  Lolo Square dance Center and RV Campground

Fairmont RV Park, Anaconda, MT

Well off the interstate, the park is average except in price. Check-in was by a disinterested office clerk, although her assistant was friendly and helpful. Gravel interior roads and sites, with a sewer hookup that was too far to the rear to use without an extension. Sites are above medium sized with grass and trees; however, there's room for a clear view of the TV satellites. Verizon cell/4G were strong, and the free WiFi was spotty. Next to a hot springs resort, but otherwise not much in the immediate area. Without a specific reason to spend time here, the overnight price is excessive and we'll look elsewhere when traveling through the area. Overpriced at $38/night.  Fairmont RV Park

Close to the interstate with easy access but not much noise, the park is slightly terraced with long, mostly level pull-thru gravel sites. Friendly office staff at check in. WiFi was typical campground erratic and there's no cable but some OTA TV. Some trees but not much impedance to satellite TV. Verizon cell/4G were very good, and hookups worked well. We'd like to rate this park higher; the owners are the friendliest, most accommodating people we've encountered and the rate is very reasonable. Alas, the train noise and cramped sites are an annoyance, and this park is best served for an overnight only. The free Wi-Fi worked well, and Verizon cell and data were strong. There's no cable TV and trees could be a problem for the satellite, so ask for a site with a clear view when checking in. The sites share central hookups and are close together. Road noise is noticeable, but not loud enough to disturb our sleep as did the trains. Easy access to I-90 and the downtown area.  Reasonable at $29/night.  Sunrise Campground
