Camp Huaco Springs, New Braunfels, TX

Stay Date:  Multiple, Last March 2010
Our Rating:  GOOD – 9
This has become our winter home for a three or four month stay.  The low monthly rate View From River($295) includes full hookups (50A) – a real bargain.  The sites are very large, and the area is quiet during the winter months. Hookups are unique; each site is three lanes wide with hookups at each side. This allowed us to pull in nose-first with a great view overlooking the cypress-lined Guadalupe River. Sites have a large cement patio, picnic table, and barbecue on a stand. The area is generally quiet except for motorcycles on the adjacent River Road, and was only a Riverview1bit crowded once the state began stocking trout every Friday in December. The staff was very friendly, there is a small store, and WiFi (weak & spotty) is free. Verizon cell and Air Card worked very well, and there’s a clear shot to the satellite. Just a short 3 miles from  Nw Braunfels which has all amenities, and less than an hour from downtown San Antonio and the fabulous RiverWalk. No pets, glass, or Styrofoam allowed along the river, but during the winter small pets are allowed in the RV area. This is a huge "toobing" area during the summer and is crowded and noisy.
