Stay Date: October 2010
Our Rating: GOOD – 9
One of Ohio’s best state parks; on a beautiful lake in the rolling hills, nice facilities, and large sites in a forest setting. Paved roads and sites, many with full hookups, although not too level. Some of the best sites cannot be reserved, but you can reserve a site and switch when you get there. No cable or WiFi, and no service for Verizon cell and Aircard. Ohio’s reservation web site will tell you if your have sun so that you can use your satellite. There are tables, fire rings, hiking trails, a marina, and miniature golf. A large marina holds lots of boats, and it is a busy, noisy place on summer weekends. In the fall, beware of parking under trees, the acorns, hickory nuts, and black walnuts will be thumping your roof. Full hookups are $32/day, but stay Sunday through Thursday and you can use Passport America and pay $20. Rocky Fork SP
